Everyone should read this book! It will really educate you on what life is really like for people who are hardly getting by. It was really informative for me, I grew up in a white, upper-middle class family and have known what its like to struggle for a living. Barbra Ehrenreich was much the same way. So she set out to see for herself. She got rid of all her credit cards and spare cash and made for a seedy motel to stay while she worked minimum wage jobs, like a waitress and a Wal-Mart employee. She talks about the hidden fees of living that most people take for granted She talks about how degrading she had to feel and how she had to live off of others generosity. It really is a unique and revealing tale. I encourage eveyone to raise awareness about poverty in America.
